We built EHRCare, a HIPAA-compliant SaaS portal that helps healthcare providers maintain patient records and manage patient visits, with standards-based integrations for labs, immunisation registries, e-prescribing, billing and quality reporting.
The Challenge
What stood in the way.
An electronic health record has to do far more than store notes. EHRCare had to support the full clinical and administrative workflow of a practice while exchanging data with many external systems, each with its own industry standard.
Standards-based integrations
Labs, immunisation registries, secure messaging, e-prescribing and clearing houses each required integration against a different standard.
Certification and quality reporting
Certification called for clinical decision support and quality measurement, including Clinical Quality Measure files compatible with CMS.
Compliance
As a SaaS portal holding patient records, the system had to meet HIPAA requirements.
Our Solution
How we answered it.
We built EHRCare on ASP.NET 4.0 and C# with SQL Server 2012, using Microsoft LightSwitch and Telerik controls for the user interface. The portal brings clinical records, prescribing, labs, billing and quality reporting together for each practice.
